2009 celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Tessa Sanderson winning her Olympic Gold Medal. On the 6th August 1984 at the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles Tessa Sanderson won the Gold in the Womens Javelin and remains today the only British Woman to ever win a throwing Gold Medal.

Welcome to Tessa Sanderson Foundation and Academy

The Tessa Sanderson Foundation and Academy is a charity organisation founded by 1984 Olympic Champion Tessa Sanderson CBE to help and assist young people in sport, towards a healthier lifestyle and through physical activity, together with building confidence and a social wellbeing whilst still in education.

The Foundation and Academy works under a structured programme to developing life skills, mentoring and monitoring of young people wanting to achieve a confident pathway to bettering themselves in society and in their social make up. Tessa Sanderson Foundation and Academy operates to work in partnership and to provide funding, care, advice, goods or assistance to communities, individuals or others who may require this kind of help.
